Club Med Bintan Island Resort Stay 2015

Our first stay at a Club Med Resort, and it's at Bintan Island!

Staycation at Orchard Hotel 2015

We had our Valentine's Day with a staycation at Orchard Hotel. It was pure indulgence as we enjoyed the various amenities the hotel had to offer with a night's stay in the Signature Suite.

Taiwan Trip 2015

The trip we had been waiting for. One of the last few places in Asia we had to visit. And of course, the food!

Hanoi and Ha Long Bay Trip 2014

Vietnam is famous for Ha Long Bay. This UNESCO World Heritage Site was well worth a visit. And Hanoi is another interesting city famous for its various food and attractions.

Hong Kong Trip 2014

We visited Hong Kong again. This time we visited Victoria Peak during the day. The view during the day was as magnificent as during night-time.

South Korea Trip 2014

Our trip to South Korea in February 2014 was a memorable and exciting journey filled with jaw-dropping scenery and lots of mouth-watering Korean food.

Japan Trip 2013

One of the best trips so far had to be the trip to Japan in 2014! A memorable trip looking at the different landscapes, cultures, cities, food and everything else that Japan had to offer.

Bangkok Trip 2012

Lots of shopping and good food sums up our trip to Bangkok.

19 Jul 15

Did we mention we bought these symbolic T-shirts from Club Med Bintan Island Resort? We did that just before we left the resort. The souvenir shop in the resort sold all kinds of merchandise, from T-shirts, to towels, and bags and accessories. We bought these T-shirts since they had the words "Bintan Island", which would remind us that we had been to this resort, but it also had the numbers "45". The "45" symbolizes the 45th anniversary, which happened back in 1995. The T-shirts were so popular, even more popular than the 50th anniversary T-shirts, that they decided to continue printing "45" T-shirts. There is also an "88" version. It is used because "8" is an auspicious number for Asian countries. And auspicious things come in pairs as well, according to Chinese beliefs. Therefore the T-shirts with "45" and "88" were born, and continue to be sold throughout Asian Club Med Resorts.

13 Feb 15

Not a massive haul for this trip to Taiwan. However, I'm sure Momo Dear was satisfied with her shopping - four bags from Raohe Street Night Market, a few purses at Ximending as gifts. I managed to grab some free couplets from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport before we boarded the plane home. The first picture below also shows some winterwear for each of us such as hats and gloves and down jackets.

Our haul for Taiwan Trip 2015!

Below are some pins we bought from an old lady who sold pins pinned to her umbrella at Shilin Night Market. All 11 of them for only NT$150, which was only about S$6.50. Almost 60 cents per pin only!

These pins are so kawaii!

Below are some earrings Dear got for herself, keychains from Pingxi, fridge magnets we redeemed for getting stamps at Sun Moon Lake, coasters from Hello Kitty theme restaurant called Hello Kitty Kitchen and Dining. To the right are purses from Ximending.

Little souvenirs from all over Taiwan.

Finally, a tote bag from MOS Burger from buying their MOS card. We had no use for the card since we do not stay in Taiwan and the card would be useless in Singapore. But Dear insisted getting the card because it had cherry blossom design.

A tote bag from MOS Burger and MOS card.

Momo Dear bought this because it looks so pretty.

14 Sep 14

This trip was more about the scenery and visiting Ha Long Bay. We did not really find anything of interest to buy as souvenirs, therefore we only got ourselves some singlets from the night market. Not included in the picture was the long dress bought from the same night market that Momo Dear wore on the day we had our trip to Ha Long Bay.

We only got some cheap singlets for this trip.

28 Jul 14

As can be seen, almost everything we bought were from Hong Kong Disneyland. Is there nothing else to get from Hong Kong? Yeah of course there are. A few tins of egg rolls in the middle of the picture. Then of course there's the Mickey Mouse design suitcase that Dear bought from Sogo.

Most of it comes from Disneyland! Even the suitcase is Mickey Mouse design!

4-7 Apr 12

Can't count, but what you see here is everything we bought from Bangkok. Yeah yeah Dear says other people grab this much within a day. Ours is nothing compared to theirs. Faints...

I especially like the white singlets with the colourful prints, but I wonder whether we got a bargain or got scammed. THB 900 for these 8 singlets. We found a stall right outside our hotel which sells at THB for 100 if I remember correctly. And these singlets feel quite rough. Hmm... Let's go back to Bangkok again! =D

We must be crazeeee.

2-8 Aug 11

Look at our souvenirs!

Actually less than half belongs to me. The rest belongs to Momo dear hahaha.

The row of coins at the bottom are Hong Kong Disneyland coins. Cost HKD 10 each.
I have a bunch of the Tokyo Disneyland coins at home waiting for these to join them in my collection.

The column on the right are ticket stubs from all the places we've been to:
- Dragon's Treasure @ City of Dreams casino
- Ferry tickets from HK to Macau
- Tickets to The Peak
- Tickets to Madam Tussaud's
- Tickets to Hong Kong Disneyland
- Invalid Fast Pass tickets from Hong Kong Disneyland (to keep as souvenirs)

I got 3 shirts from Espirit, 1 from Quiksilver, 1+1 game magazine, half of the foodstuffs and... that's it! Women sure like to shop hahaha!

Here's a close-up version without the coins.
